At $52.4 billions in sales, HP needs little introduction. This being said, a lot has changed with respect to print in the last year. For starters, HP has purchased the A3 laser copy assets of Samsung of Korea and have reworked all the software to align with their own line of equipment. In addition, they have taken their billion dollar R&D investment in ink jet technology and shrunk it down to the amazingly fast Pagewide line of colour multifunctionals that must be seen to be fully appreciated.
Most importantly, HP has recognized that they cannot continue to sell their products transactionally i.e. where you buy the product from one vendor and get service and supplies from another – it just doesn’t work with higher end products. At 4 Office, we’re happy that they have at last joined the contractual world where leasing and “all in” service go hand in hand. If speed of print, colour, network security, and service are important to your business – HP’s newest “Contractual” products must be seen.
